Rommel Alim Abitria

Rommel Alim Abitria is a practicing lawyer who was admitted to the bar in 2005. He graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law in 2004 with a J.D. degree. Before entering law school, Iyok, as he is fondly called, took up Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts.
Iyok hails from Donsol, Sorsogon.
Iyok started as an intern of the Ateneo Human Rights Center in 2001 and remained active until he graduated law. While in Law School, he was also an intern of the Balay Alternative Legal Advocates for Development in Mindanaw, Inc. (BALAOD-Mindanaw) in 2001 and of the Environmental Legal Assistance Center, Inc. (ELAC) in 2002. Right after graduation, Iyok served as a legal consultant of the World Wide Fund for nature (WWF) Donsol Project.
As of now Iyok serves as resource person in different trainings and seminars about the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act and other laws related to the protection of children.
